Operation Warm

Duluth firefighters warm kids with winter coats and caring.

Hey, all!  By the way, I know it says my mom wrote this post, but was actually me signed in with her account.

Anyway, if any of are looking for a way to help out in the next two days and live near Duluth, you should drive downtown and check out the fundraiser the Duluth Fire Department is putting on. It’s called Operation Warm, and they’re raising funds and awareness to address a local concern: Many children in the area can’t afford winter jackets.

There’ll be food, music, and a general party atmosphere tonight and tomorrow night. 7 West Taphouse is selling their burger of the month, too, and a dollar from every burger will be donated to Operation Warm. Finally, there’ll be a dinner at Bent Paddle Brewery on Oct. 27. For a link to donate and a more detailed list of events, check out http://www.warmduluth.com/brewery.html.

Here’s a news story about it, too.  (We’re having some tech problems with the blog, so you might want to copy/paste into a new window).

If you supported my own challenge, please support this one, too!  And remember to share it with your friends!  We want the fire fighters to be as successful as possible!
